What does it take to release a UK number 1 album in the musical landscape of 2021? Join us for a panel discussion looking at two incredible Scottish album success stories of this year; Mogwai’s ‘As the Love Continues’ and The Snuts’ ‘W.L.’ as part of the SMIA’s ‘The Summit’ event series.
Both records topped the UK Official Albums Chart in quick succession, one being a tenth studio album and one being a debut. The panel will feature some of the key individuals involved in driving both album campaigns, who will share insights into what they feel drove commercial success and discuss strategies which artists, managers and labels should consider to maximise audience development and drive fan engagement in 2021.
