Wide Days is Scotland’s music convention, attracting industry delegates and bookers from across the world to Edinburgh in April while showcasing the 6 most exciting emerging artists and bands from Scotland every year.
Attend this workshop to find out how you can apply to be considered, and how you can make the most of the event which has provided a vital platform to artist such as Be Charlotte, Kathryn Joseph, C. Duncan, LUCIA and The Ninth Wave.

GAINING MOMENTUM

PRS Foundation’s Momentum Music Fund – run in partnership with Creative Scotland, PPL, Spotify and others – offers grants of up to £15,000 to artists and bands who are at a crucial career tipping point, funding projects which will have a significant career impact (e.g. recording, releases, marketing and touring). Launched at Wide Days 2018, the new partnership has supported 6 artists in Scotland already and we are keen to attract more applications to our next deadline of January 28th.
This workshop will feature funding partners, expert panel advisors and artists to ensure you know all about this major opportunity and have expert advice to make sure you apply at the right time, for the right thing with the strongest application possible.
Who should attend?
Artists and their team members (e.g. managers, agents, record labels) who have reached or are close to a career tipping point who require practical advice from Momentum experts and case study grantees ahead of the next deadline.

SXSW is the world’s biggest international showcase event, with hundreds of artists and bands from across the world showcasing for over a week in March. Scotland’s presence at SXSW is always strong and PRS Foundation’s International Showcase Fund partners work alongside SMIA to provide informal advice ahead of your trips. Those invited to showcase or attend SXSW are encouraged to attend to ask any questions, hear expert tips and start planning to make sure this Scottish artists stand out and make the most of this massive opportunity.
The Momentum Music Fund is run by PRS Foundation in partnership with PPL, Creative Scotland, Arts Council of Wales and Welsh Government, and Arts Council of Northern Ireland and Invest NI, in association with Spotify. PRS Foundation and Arts Council England initiated The Momentum Music Fund in 2013.
The International Showcase Fund is a partnership between PRS Foundation, Department for International Trade, British Underground, Arts Council England, the Musicians’ Union, PPL, Creative Scotland, Wales Arts International and Arts Council Wales, Arts Council of Northern Ireland and Invest NI, in association with PledgeMusic.
