Honeyblood Stina & UNESCO City of Literature Trust Join Panel

HONEYBLOOD FRONT WOMAN AND EDINBURGH UNESCO CITY OF LITERATURE TRUST TO JOIN 'CREATING THE PERFECT MUSIC CITY' PANEL

Honeyblood’s Stina Tweeddale and Edinburgh UNESCO City of Literature Trust director, Ali Bowden, are set to join next week’s Born To Be Wide discussion ‘creating the perfect music city’. They will join Newcastle University’s Adam Behr and Unique Events founder Pete Irvine for the evening at the Electric Circus on Thursday 5 November.

With a focus on the capital, it will explore ideas about how to build and nurture artistic and business talent and draw on Behr’s recent study of Edinburgh’s live scene, which found that the sector contributed £40m to the city’s economy.

“Stina and Ali will bring valuable perspectives and make a great contribution to the discussion,” says Born To Be Wide founder Olaf Furniss, adding that through playing in hundreds locations around the world, Tweeddale is well-placed to give examples of successful models.

In addition, Bowden brings a unique insight into what factors have enabled another creative genre to thrive, and how challenges faced by the literary community were overcome.

The panel will be preceded by an interview with Pete Irvine, who prior to establishing Unique Events co-founded Regular Music in the mid-seventies, bringing some of the world’s largest acts to Scotland.

Following the discussion, speakers will be invited to DJ and socialise with the audience.
