Agent & Musician Added to Promoting Gigs Seminar
We are pleased to announce the addition of Meursault frontman Neil Pennycook and booking agent Emma Hogan (ITB), to our Promoting Gigs seminar at Edinburgh's Electric Circus on Thursday 3 October. They will join a panel which also features Tallah Brash (booker, The Electric Circus), John Stout (promoter, Regular Music) and Grainne Braithwaite (promoter, Synergy Concerts).
Pennycook has extensive experience promoting his band's own shows, and also co-promoted the Pale Imitation Festival series of gigs during the Fringe. Hogan's roster includes Dry The River, Army Navy, Jake Hart and Cut Ribbons, and her participation is a rare opportunity to get the perspective of a London-based booking agent North of the Border.
The seminar will cover what should be considered when promoting gigs, what promoters look for in artists and what musicians can expect from a promoter. It will also give acts an insight into putting on their own shows and will be followed by speakers DJing.
