Adam Behr is a Lecturer in Contemporary and Popular Music at Newcastle University and a Director of the Live Music Exchange, a research organisation building bridges between academics, industry and policymakers.
Alongside many years of working in Edinburgh bars and venues, he wrote a PhD on the history of the rock band, since when he has been engaged in live music and policy research on projects with partners such as UK Music and the Musicians’ Union, investigating the cultural value of live music, copyright and creative practice. Most recently he undertook a census of live music in Edinburgh.
